Explaining This Whole Blog Thing

In less than six months, I'll be joining the ranks of resilient, patient, and strong military wives who are at this moment experiencing some aspect of the ever-changing, always challenging military life. As a fiance at this moment, I just want to document, ramble, share, and learn together the lessons that are so imperative to the life we live every day.

I am more than excited to continue this journey with the love of my life and the guidance of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He brought us this far, and I am convinced that He will continue the work He has begun. (Philippians 1:6).

Whether you are a milso (military significant other) or not, I hope you can find something within these words that resonates with the human strengths and weaknesses we all encounter. Truthfully, this is not even really a blog about being a "milso."
It's about relationships and distance and learning and growing and ....love.
It will be comedic, a little poetic, most likely dramatic, and above all, an authentic look at how I see things within this life we share together.

Relationships are hard.

Distance is hard.

Love is hard. And we all have so much to learn together. Military or not.

What Motherhood Cost Me

I'm seven months into motherhood, and it has cost me.  My emotional stability has disappeared. I never know when I'm going to "lose it," but it has lost me respect and I regret that.  My body is totally different. If ever I wondered if some of my identity came from how I looked, I now have a pretty clear idea- it did. It bothers me that I don't look the same. It's hard to look at pictures of myself, and I've scrolled back to the days when my body fit into those jeans and I looked healthy and young and...in my mind, more attractive.  Going to social events is not the same. If you've ever tried to casually nurse, it's not a thing (at least it wasn't for me), and suddenly going places has to factor in a diaper bag, stroller, and car seat- live baby included in the travel package. From experience, the baby may scream all the way to the destination, poop on your jeans [audibly] [during a quieter moment], and forget an extra pair of clothes for thems...

Confessions Of A [Military] Wife

Becoming an Air Force wife at twenty during a pandemic with an (early) emergency wedding and then moving to a different state two days later ... I’ve definitely learned a lot in the last few months. These are my confessions, not all about being a wife, and not all about being a military wife, but all admissions of this period of time. I don’t necessarily love failing (at all, just like you), but Confession #1: I love to entertain people with my various faux pas, so grab some ice cream while I cry over spilled milk.    Confession #2: I may or may not (heavy on the affirmative) chosen to slightly  break the rules on base that  mandate no public displays of affection while airmen are in uniform.
